Grain temperature control system (thermometric system) for elevators, silos and bunkers is a set of technical devices for continuous or cyclic monitoring of the temperature of a bulk of grain crops. Measuring equipment based on thermal suspensions and thermal rods allows to automate monitoring of the thermal state of grain, eliminate the influence of the human factor, eliminate errors and prevent unacceptable self-heating of the bulk product.
In addition to elevator structures, the temperature control system is also in demand in the food, feed and other industries that imply the need to store a multi-meter layer of grain or oilseeds.
After harvesting, thousands of tons of cereals and oilseeds need long-term storage with protection from harmful factors, the main one being humidity. Warm grain breathes, which leads to an active loss of dry matter, entailing a decrease in consumer value due to the degradation of the baking properties of flour.
Measuring the temperature of grain ensures not only its storage without loss and deterioration in quality, but also solves several interrelated issues:
In addition, the temperature control system (thermometric system) minimizes the risk of spontaneous overheating of stored bulk media.
Temperature monitoring systems in the bulk product can be manual or automated. In the first case, control measurements are regularly performed by the operator using thermal hangers or thermal rods. In the second case, this process is carried out by a system with automated measurement, based on specialized controllers.
The automated temperature control system is distinguished by the presence of special software that processes information and then, based on it, gives appropriate recommendations to help return the grain temperature to the state necessary for further storage.
